Assalaamualaikum...

Hi out there! welcome back to the University and we are so sure that you are highly motivated to start new semester.....and we are entering semester 2 session 2009/ 2010. It was quite long time that there was no program organized by the CSD as students were busy with examination and followed by semester break =)

However, CSD was quite busy with preparation of Program Kepimpinan & Sahsiah (modul 1), Biasiswa Khas Tenaga Akademik IPTA 2009...a very special program which we were given a trust from Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia to train 120 students from 7 public universities who are under their scholarship....

The program took place on 2nd - 4th December 2009 (3days 2 nights) at Lembah Azween Resort, Hulu Langat, Selangor.....It was really tiring event, but sweet memories to be remembered...Here are short stories on the fabolous event.....

By realizing this was a big project for the CSD...we surveyed many places and we decided to have this place to run the show...

the program started with briefing and special module was carried out to break the ice among the participants...

CSD at Mahallah Hafsah

It was really memorable event to be shared here..first and foremost we would like to convey our gratitude to mahallah Hafsah for inviting CSD to their BRC leadership training. Basically we were there to assist the mahallah in providing leadership training which hopefully really gave impact to the participants.

On our part, we were very happy with the commitment given by all MRC/committee members and we enjoyed with the energetic participants. We managed to conduct workshop on blending personalities which we are expecting that the awareness towards uniqueness of human personalities will lead to better leadership and effective teamwork among MRC & BRC.

We could conclude that it was excellent effort by Mdm Nordinah Mohd Kassim for interesting presentation as we could see the warmth participation among participants.

To ensure the program became more interesting, the program continued with Mission Possible Activity which was conducted by Br. Saiful Redza & Br. Saaiful Azhar...It was really stressful and challenging activity in order to enhance team spirit, leadership skill and exploring the true potentials among participants. Well, all groups managed to accomplished the mission! Congratulations! You all were really cool while playing the game...

Finally, we would like to convey our heartiest appreciation to Mdm Kalsom Wan Adam for playing an important role to ensure the program ran smoothly. All this while she did god job to build and maintain good ukhuwah between mahallat and CSD. Thus, we highly hope this lovely ukhuwah and efficient collaboration will remains forever.

We were very happy to convey our gratitude to all CSD Support group members who attended our simple event, the CSD Shawwal Gathering which was held on 14th October 2009 at our beloved office.

You all guys made the event alive...and we extremely appreciate your visit as we felt the objectives were achieved. All this while, it was quite difficult to combine all support group members at one particular time...knowing one another, sharing ideas/experiences and strengthening our precious ukhuwah. It was really great event to be organized again in future, insha'Allah...

Anyway, we are expecting the good culture is not exist during eating function..hehehehe...Most welcome to visit us or drop by for just few minutes to ensure this harmonious relationship will remains forever. On 9th October 2009, Personal Growth Group (PGG) has successfuly organized the PGG Appreciation Night with the theme Classic Raya!

It was memorable event with the coming of most of PGG members and everyone looked cheerful with beutiful dressing. We really enjoyed the program and for that reason, we would like to convey our gratitude to those who were coming especially our VIP that night, beloved Head of Department, Mdm Noraini Ahmad and our charming counselor, Br. Wan Mohd Ashmirullah..hehehehe...not forgetting dedicated Advisor, BR. SAIFUL REDZA, committed Management board of PGG, Musa'id/ah, facilitators and co-facilitators....you all were really cool!

wow! time is so fast and now we are entering to a special month for all Muslim and praise be to the Lord of Universe for giving us the opportunity to enjoy ramadhan. This is the month which consists of so many benefits and rewards from Allah to His vicegerents. In fact, this is special time to train ourselves to be a better servant, improving our ibadah and actually to enhance our inner strengths.

Therefore, CSD would like to take this chance to wish all Muslimin and Muslimat, Happy Ramadhan al-Mubarak...May Allah bless all of us...

PGG Outdoor Session - Bowling Tournament

Bowling....do you have any experience with that kind of sport? or do you have any ideas on how to throw the ball? and how about to obtain marks? hhhhmmmm...I am sure not so many people familiar with bowling and some might feel not so confident to play it as they feel shy if their ball out of the lane.

On 16th August 2009, PGG will be organizing Outdoor Session to all members as we are expecting the program will be a platform to streghthen relationship among them. However, why must bowling?

Well, we are pretty sure that many students are not really familiar with bowling. Therefore, it is a time to empower their team spirit by supporting each other. Don't worry if you don't know how to play the game...we just enjoy the event and learn from basic. The main objective is not winning the game, but to strengthen relationship and enhancing your self confidence. In fact, I would say that this is common game played by so many companies in order to strengthen their teamwork. Thus, you are lucky for having earlier exposure and there is one strong reason why u should join the event, bowling promotes healthy lifestyle....hehehehehe....

If experience is still bothering you, the PGG Advisor will show you how to play the game...Anyway, those who are interested, please registere your name at CSD office as soon as possible.

IIUM Peer Counselor Day

Assalaamualaikum wbkt.

Hi all of you out there? have u heard about Pebimbing Rakan Sebaya? It is common for Malaysian coz they were being exposed with the group since primary and secondary school. Then, do you know that the same group exist in our campus which it is known as IIUM Peer Counselors?

Well, IIUM PEER COUNSELORS is a special support group under the CSD which provides counseling/consultation services which attended by students who have completed structured modules/trainings of counseling skills. Those students were appointed through an interview and passed certain criteria which enable to them to be a role model among their peers.

IIUM Peer Counselors Day was organized on 31st July 2009 in order to incerase awareness among IIUM students towards services provided by the group. Here, are some stories about the event:

Happy Besday to our HOD

On 24thJuly 2009, we were celebrating besday of our respected Head of Department. She is getting older but we hope her spirits to lead the department is getting stronger and stronger.

This was the special cake to celebrate the event. We bought it from the secret recipe and it was sooooo..yummy and delicious. Actually, we also celebrated the farewell of our previous Assistant Director, Sr. Norzamzarina M. Noor as well as welcomed our new hero of CSD, Br. Kamaruddin Abdul Hamid.

It was a suprised event which she did not know that the party had been setup to celebrate her besday. We really enjoyed the day and it is our hope that she is always in good health condition..gets better rezki and longer life for still contribute to the society.

To our sister norzamzarina, all the best for your career in a new department and hopefully time with us was wonderful moment to be remembered.

To our new family member, we are more than happy to welcome you and hopefully CSD is going to be a nice place for you to expand your skills, knowledge and bright career path as an Assistant Director.

Easy alternative to reach CSD counselors

CSD is proudly to introduce an interesting and easier way to reach the CSD counselors. Now, IIUM students are having opportunities to chat with your counselor from anywhere by just opening your sophisticated PC or laptop and surfing the internet.

The service is simple and quite convinient. You may share any issues with counselors and it is just during the office hours ( 9.00am - 4.30pm).

Here are some guidelines how to start chatting...

1) Go to the IIUM website ( http://www.iiu.edu.my/)

2) Click the staff and students box

3) Click the Students Resources

4) Click the E-Counseling (at the bottom part)

5) For the first time user. Fisrtsly you have to register in order to confirm that you are IIUM students. It is very important to identify that you are IIUM students so that counselors will not entertain any outsiders (priority given to IIUM students only).

therefore, click register

6) in order to confirm that you are IIUM student, please key-in all the requested information. maybe you are afraid if a counselor will know your identity....but do not worry, we know your situation...therefore, your identity is remain anonymous by key-in your preferable nick name/ username.

7) After registering with the system, now you could choose any available counselor and login to the system in order to enter the chat room.

hopefully all of you will enjoy the service. However, we are so sorry if there is no available counselor at the time you are trying to reach counselor. If there is no counselor, It means

*counselors are busy with walk in interview client

*or they are not at the office

*or they are having other important tasks/programs/ courses/meetings

Below is the duty schedule among counselors
